Best Radar Detector for the 997?

Hey Everyone,
I'm a proud new owner of a 997.1 c2, it brings such a huge smile to my face every time i start the engine (kind of like this-->). Anyway, after reading this month's issue of Car and Driver, there's an article about how because the economy sucks, cops will try to issue more tickets to fund the state. Just to be on the safe side, I am in the market to put a radar detector on my 997.1 and am just shopping around right now. What do you guys recommend? Any good/bad experiences with any particular system? I don't know too much about radar/laser detectors because this will be my first one, I am looking for some tips on what to look for and how much to expect to spend.

I am basically looking for:
1 - a clean install (k40, i think does the best job of this).
2 - works really well (I've heard nothing but great things about the valentine v1)
3 - and how much is it going to cost me plus the install?

Please posts pics too! Thanks in Advanced!

Valentine 1. Hands down.

No need for fancy install. Mount it up by your rear view mirror and you are good to go. Best to hard wire it to the car so you don't have a wire running to the cigarette lighter though.

I've never owned a V1, is it that good? I heard mixed things.

V1. No question. They're way beyond that good. And I've owned them all.

I can't imagine someone owning a high performance vehicle and NOT having a V1.

My crappy cobra works great, but when i got into a car with a V1 and laser jammer, i was amazed, it is nothing to mess with, and i bet you will enjoy every moment of it. just don't get bored with speed!

+1 for V1 for radar and laser.

But...once you get tagged by laser, your done. You'll need some kind of laser defense also.

i know some people that swear by k40, but that is a more a diffuser than a detector. Calibre Radar and Laser Detector Protection – K40 Bluetooth Radar Detectors
