Completely agree. You can see pics of my setup here. I looked into both in some depth and concluded that the best setup is the Escort 9500ci with Laser Interceptors. See my setup below.

It integrates really nicely and works great. The system has radar detection (as sensitive as a V1 based on my tests), laser jamming (effective combined with Veil), and uses a hidden GPS sensor to provide you warnings for traffic cameras and blockout falses. It also has a voice module, so the alerts can be heard as announcements, e.g. "Ka band detected", or "Front Jamming sequence initiated, Kustom Prolaser 3, please slow down"

Radar antenna (center of lower air dam) and front laser jammers (corners of lower air dam)
.

Two rear laser jammers mounted at the top corners of the license plate frame.

Display in mirror to indicate warnings, signal strength and programming menus

Green LED above the speedometer (it is dead centered but camera angle makes it look off). This indicates the system is on. It flashes red when laser or radar is detected. Provides line of sight warning so you don't need to look in mirror. Great when combined with audio warnings and announcements.

Coin compartment contains the controller (left controller for Passport system, right controller for Laser Interceptor system)

Coin compartment folds away as normal

There is also a retractable USB cable in the footwell which I can use to update the system with new speedtraps every Monday.

Good radar detector, but in urban areas more than half of the tickets are issued with lidar. You need a jammer. Laser Interceptor has very good integration with V1.

All the components are included in the escort 9500ci, but I upgraded the laser jammer to Laser Interceptor which came separately but also came with all the hardware needed. The included Escort jammers were pretty weak (they use LEDs to do the jamming, the Laser Interceptor is bulletproof (uses actual laser diodes).

My installer did the mirror install. They dismantled the OEM mirror, found a spot for the Escort display, and then installed the display inside the mirror and wired it into the mirror power supply. Then they out it back together. The mirror continues to retain all OEM functions (auto dimming and garage door openers still work).

The whole system including install was $3500. Labor was pretty steep but this is the top custom shop in the state, and they also have their own police Lidar gun to test the setup is working. At the end of the install the installer drove my car up and down the driveway while I shot it with their lidar gun so I could see for myself that it was 100% effective.

Thats ridiculous to pay $3500 for that install - Every shop Ive been to keeps a gun for testing - but here in nyc the 9500 install is no more than 2000 -

I use a k40 360RL the new GPs unit and thing its great

It was $2100 for the 9500ci. Without mirror would have been 1900. It was an additional $1400 for the Laser Interceptor Quad.

I think you are missing the point that I have 2 systems on this car, not just one.

I can't comment on the K40, but I do know that the previous model didn't jam anything, and since they don't allow independent reviews, it's hard to get any facts on the new one.

Also if you want to know why I bought a LI Quad on top, go to guysoflidar.com

Here is the fact sheet.

The last time a K40 jammer was tested professionally, it was weaker than an Escort ZR4 (the jammer included with the 9500ci)
