Paint chip dilemma

Hello folks. I am having some difficulties repairing a paint chip on my V8 Vantage. The previous owner had acquired the chip near the fuel filler cap. Unfortunately, there is some raised area paint right at the edge of the chip. I have managed to fill it with color (although not so it is not yet even with the surrounding paint). The color looks pretty good, but the difference in texture is still there. I tried using Langka, but my paint is a very metallic blue and the Blob Eliminator solution dulls the touch-up paint too much. In addition it tends to lift the paint at the edges where it has raised up a bit (as does my Menzerna polish). I suppose I'm looking for a bit of advice regarding what my options are at this point. So here are my questions:

1.) Should I just leave it as is for now and seek a professional? I don't trust my skills to wet sand, etc., as my detailing skills are limited to washing, waxing and light swirl removal. (Although I used to be an artist, so I know how to used a brush.)

2.) Would it be a good idea to continue to build up the paint layers until it is uniformly raised and then just rely on someone to sand it down evenly?

3.) In either event, can anyone recommend a professional paint chip repair service or detailer experienced in this type of work in Florida? Preferably in the southwest somewhere between Tampa and Naples (I live in Fort Myers).

4.) Or is it more likely that I'll need to have that area resprayed?

Sorry for so many questions, but any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

brumma

I would take it to a pro, you'd be amazed at what some of the paint specialists out there can do.

Find a pro. For me at least, those minor imperfections would drive me insane until I know it was properly repaired, rather than just covered up with some paint.

Different car, similar problem. Just got a nick in the paint on the hood of my meteorite silver V8 Vantage and am looking for someone who can do paint chip repair (as opposed to a respray). Can anyone recommend someone in the southern Florida region?

I might be able to help, I don't do it for a living, but I've gotten pretty darn good at fixing these on my car.
