Help With 2005 Tt Giac Chip...

thinking of getting one... i heard id have to also get the full exhaust.. and thats around $5000... .not interested in dumping 5k on exhaust though.

question: what type of HP gains should i expect from the chip MINUS the full exhaust?

Bryan, your machine looks awesome. I too would get ahold of Alex at Sharkwerks, he is a straight shooter and will give you an honest answer and will tell you if it is even worth your while. He is an honest man and is not in it purely for the money, it is about passion with heim and James.->->->->->->->

I would like to Welcome you to the family, enjoy your stay with us!!

Huge gains. the 996tt cab is a pig. Chip alone totally transforms it. I did it on 3 996tt cabs and didn't regret it for a second.

Go for the EVOMS stage 2, its pretty good. A friend of mine had it and its been very reliable ever since with B&B exhausts, dv's and other mods.

let me ask you.... will the chip alone MINUS the exhaust still yield big gains?

i really really enjoy the factory sound.. and dont want an aftermarket exhaust installed.

so whats your thoughts on that?

Yes it will! Close to 50-60 bhp. But if you're going to do this, make sure you do 2 things. 1. Get DV's along with the chip (they are relatively inexpensive and very necessary) 2. Call Alex at Sharkwerks. As previously stated there is no better! And unlike a lot of tuners/dealers he's more concerned with helping fellow enthusiasts than making a quick buck.

hi bryan, providing that you _don't_ have the K24s (aka an X50, Turbo S or GT2) then the amount of back pressure from that stock exhaust isn't "as important". I don't find the K16s with a stock exhaust particularily laggy, where as the K24s are and need the reduction in back pressure to spool up and actually make any power. So in your case I would start with some software, DVs and plugs and see what you think

If you like the factory sound pretty much any exhaust will be considerably louder inside the car as an FYI.

thanks colby, sorry I couldn't make it to the HRE event. Had some major headaches getting back from EVO in Arizona with the weather and those r compound tires
