I spent 2 hours online a few weeks ago trying to find what would be the best cleaner for my dashboard and interior trim that wouldn't leave it all shiny and greasey and never found a really good answer.

TeamSpeed rates would be great, I've got people all over the country that I would love to buy a good detail for them for Christmas
Great suggestions. You guys should post your questions here. We had an "Ask Moe" thread a while ago, I'll get that cranking again.

Well Deeg, since you asked . . .

The key to this part of the forum succeeding is to have Moe at the heart of it. He is simply the best at what he does. He is also intelligent. No offense, but just because you can detail a car, it does not mean that you have the smarts or ability to teach others how to do it. Moe has that rare ability. A lot of the detailers that were on 6Speed would post these long posts full of 50 pics but then never say anything that would help out the DIYer. Moe always includes DIY tips in all of his posts. And they are readable and actually helpful.

I would not want to see any large detail sites on here like Autogeek, Griots, etc. They just don't give you that personal touch and will sell anything that will make them a buck. I know that they can pay the sponsor fee - and maybe a bit more. But they will add very little to the site. My suggestion is to stay away from that. They are fine as a general sponsor - e.g., an icon down the left side of the site. But I would not want to see anyone but Moe as the detail board guy. We don't want too many cooks in the kitchen like over at 6Speed. That detail board just went all to hell. If you want to see how NOT to do it, just look what has happened over there in the past year. Terrible.

Moe has a total committment to excellence. I know that I sound like a commercial for GP but I have not only had a lot of great experiences with Moe's work, but we have become great personal friends as well. The highest praise I can give anyone is to say that I "trust" them. I trust Moe. He is this part of the forum's best asset. Let's take full advantage of any content he has to offer.

If any of you have not seen it, here is a sort video I put together featuring Moe's work on my 997TT. Simply the best.

YouTube - My Porsche Turbo 997TT Detailed by Glistening Perfection

To watch this video in HD on my pic an vid site, follow this link:

Downforce Media- 997TT Detailed by GP in High Def

If you are in the LA area, there is just no reason not to have Moe detail your luxury car.

The "Ask Moe" thread would be great. Make it a sticky though so that it is easy to access. You might also make a section that includes tips by Moe that locks out replies. It would be a place to read all of Moe's tips quickly without having to sift through a bunch of responses. So you have the "Ask Moe" sticky where people can comment back and forth. Then you also have a "Tips By Moe" where it is just Moe's advice for quick access. You could do the same for product reviews, etc. Give Moe his due and his space to work. I know he will come through for us.

I'm pretty new here and haven't much interaction with Moe, but an Ask Moe section sounds like a really good idea ....that is as long as Moe doesn't mind

You might also want to consider having other detailers *gasp* besides Moe (no offense to Moe, different market share) contribute...My shop just got hooked up with Car Domain and we should be seeing some good stuff out of that...

There's actually quite a few detailers here on the board. The goal that DJ had when bringing me on board was to have a detailing forum that was more geared towards the members and their needs. So often on other forums, detailers are merely there to show off their work and more concerned about bragging rights. Having one main detailer, IMHO, is advantageous to members since you have a consistent and reputable person to get advice from. I also realize that there are many talented and well-respected detailers out there, hence why I've hand-picked those that are here.

My ultimate goal....make TeamSpeed Detailing Forum the finest detailing board, based on content and its members, on the web. With your help and invlovment, we can achieve that goal.
