Decisions, decisions

Thanks again. I briefly considered the Q7 (there is a sick S-line 3.0T at my local dealer), but it's going to be facelifted very soon.
For my Euro friends, Audi doesn't sell any Avants other than the hideous "All-Road" here. Believe me, if they sold the S6 or RS6 Avant here, we wouldn't be having this discussion!

Again, go drive an S6.

The problem with the S6 is that they're all pre-ordered, so a test drive is out of the question unless I find a generous owner or a pre-owned one shows up. I've driven the new A6 3.0T a couple of times, and it's definitely not lacking for power. I've sat in the S6, and I really like the changes to the seats, etc. Believe it or not, but my wife is the one more opposed to the S6 - she thinks it's an old man's car.
Like I said, I briefly considered the Q7, but it's really come down to RS4 (or S6/Cayenne GTS).

Try and find an S7 to test drive if you can't get into the 6, they're quite similar in terms of handling and comfort, and both share that glorious engine. But before making any decisions you and your wife both have to experience that vehicle. I assure you that she'll come around, when its standing still it looks like any regular Audi, but once it gets moving that's when you actually get to understand what it's really about.
I can't say anything about the RS4 because I've not gotten a chance to drive it as yet, but if the S6 is anything to go by, it'll be a monster and a half.
If you're looking at the Cayenne GTS, you can't get better in that range IMO, I prefer the GTS to the Turbo.. Now if you we're talking about the TT S, I'd be singing a different tune

Look into an S7 or CTS-V Wagon.
It would be aweomse if the RS-4 does make it stateside but Audi has never been one to have many RS variants available to us. I hope they do bring it over but.... if history has taught us anything it's not coming until they stop the RS-7 or RS-5.

Seriously consider the RR. As the kids grew up I had a grand Cherokee, two Lexus LX 470 and the supercharged RR. You would be surprised how much space you will need as they grow and plus you may have another down the road which will require even more space. For me it was important to know that they had a safe car to drive around in.
