Quote: I am deeply craving some Trofeo's but can't source the GD things. Help?? Have heard Direzza Star Spec Dunlops are next best? Gotta be able to drive them on the street. I run what I 'brung.
The rumor-mill has the Trofeo's only coming in in 2011.
I run Toyo R888, and am pretty happy with them. I get about 6 track days on them. You should be able to ride to and from the track with them too. I do. They are DOT certified.

Love Spring Mountain! 2:42 is a DAMN fast time in any road car! What organization was running out there? It's rare to see a group run the full 3.2 like that!

I think I was turning mid-2:50s in my Cayman manual with road tires (Sumitomo HTR-ZIII). The tires held up much better than that! I get 3+ track days out of a set, but they certainly don't have the grip of an R-compound.

the Sumi's are great tires actually! very surprising for the price. I've been running them for a year or so on the TT (255/35/19 XL) and have been very impressed by the grip/wear properties of them. They do not seem to mind getting hot and the treadwear is great for the performance level. Double the lifespan of the OEM Conti 3's and better ride quality with the same dry & wet grip!

to Darren at the Tire Rack for making the recommendation!

Yeah, I've been recommending the Sumis to everyone who'll listen. Wish they would fit on our lemons car!
