Spyder at Spring Mountain. Track pics/Video
Ok, well it took longer than I would have liked to get the Spyder on track (11 days after delivery), but better late than never right?
My previous time on this track in the GT3RS was 2:40, the Spyder's best time a bit over 2:42 (consistently), and let me assure you the Spyder was held back by the Pirelli PZeros which, while not horrible, did commit "suicide by slip angle" and gave their lives for the cause..
Given some decent tires this little rascal would easily match the RS's time in my hands. In a "real" drivers hands I think the Spyder would be only about 4 secs slower than a new RS.
I was running mid-pack red (fastest) group and most all of them were running r or near r compound tires.
That is pretty friggen wild!
The host of this event allows passengers in the cars so my wife was able to ride along several times which she enjoys.
This car is a joy to drive and road manners are superb. Not the pure track tool that the RS is, however, for someone that is not a fully committed track-crack addict as I am would be better served with a Spyder than GT3.
Let there be no mistake- PDK in Sport Plus is AWESOME for track work. I never once even thought about a 6 speed tranny. And with the 7th gear, MPG was off the hook on the highway: 30-32 at 75 MPH! Fock!
The Sport Exhaust option as well is incredible and as delicious at GT3 exhaust sound. Both are fully recommended.
Trying out my new SmartyCam and the sound quality is for crap, sorry about that.
Few pics and a couple videos.

There is a good bit of push, no doubt. Even after fooling with the tire pressures. Do you have a solution yet Casey? How about camber? Thoughts? I had Stoppie's tech max out the stock available camber.
PS- I have way, WAY more brake than tire. Tires will be the single biggest upgrade.

Camber is not going to fix your problem. You need adjustable sway bars and the car set to Mike's recommendations. Drop me an email if you are interested... You wont drive your RS anymore after you get your Spyder set up
