This might interest you:
Saturday morning i went with my uncle to test drive an SLS at mercedes benz of Manhattan. They had 3 SLS's there. Two of the three cars were lemon lawed. They were 2011's with less then 5000 miles on them. One had a new engine put in and the other they claim "they couldn't replicate the customers complaint but they bought it back from him because he is such a good customer"
We agree to test drive them anyway since they are highly discounted. Only a couple problems though. One car starts but the car elevator doesn't work to bring the car down. the other car is already on the main floor but the battery is dead and the car is not accepting a charge.
FInally they tell us they have a third SLS in the building that is ready for a drive but someone is probably going to buy it later that day. (this one supposedly was not lemon lawed) We go out in the car and it is obvious this car is not ready for delivery. The reg is still on the car the car is filthy and the tire pressure light is on. We leave the dealership and about 4 blocks later the check engine light comes on and the engine goes into limp mode. The transmission wasn't catching and you can hear that the engine was working full blast so this car could go 40 mph. Finally it stalls at a light. We drive the car straight back and tell them that they are full of it. We've wasted three hours of our time. Not to mention the headlights had condensation.
Nowwww they tell us they have a fourth SLS at the park ave showroom and we can drive over there and take that one. As a courtesy they will give us the car for the remainder of the day.
This one as it turns out was not lemon lawed and through out the course of the day actually proved to work flawlessly. It was a monster with an exhaust sound that was intoxicating and looks that could kill.
I will say that the experience shows that many of these cars are coming back with problems.
I feel back for you but it sounds like you're being too nice about the situation. You have to go in there and start causing a fuss. Threaten with complaints to the better business bureau or the department of consumer affairs or whatever the equivalent is to where you live. I would ask for a refund and wait to get a 2013 or 2014 SLS when they have the bugs sorted out.

Unfortunately, I think Greg is right. You've written some very big checks to this dealership in the past, and now you're getting screwed but not really holding them accountable.
IMO, you need to start raising some hell for them to take you seriously.
You tried to be Mr. nice guy already, and have gotten nowhere really.
If this dealership wants to keep your business, then they better start acting like it.
Or just go down to the audi dealer that is a competitor of the MB dealer and buy the R8 V10 that is sitting on their showroom floor, and then drive it over to the MB dealer and do donuts in their parking lot while giving them the finger.

But then again they did address the issue... so I wouldn't do it now.

Maybe u should go and see an AMG specialist, thats who they recommended for me. They have in total 27 amg specilist in the country, and they r trained by AMG themselves.

I agree with many that have said you need to get representation and start raising hell ... but with a cool head (very important). Do not deal with the SA any longer, only speak with the GM of the dealership and put a call into MB headquarters in Germany to get the ball rolling. Dont worry about upsetting them, they have much more to lose than you do. You have tolerated too much.
I do not aqree that a 200k car should come with no problems look at a Lambo murci, that costs double and has a horrible reputation of breaking down. There are many other examples of very expensive exotics not being reliable or well built. The high cost is usually for performance, looks, and exclusivity. We all like to think that means it will be perfect since it costs so much. Wish this was always the case.
On another note about your front end being pushed in...I went to sell back my 2010 Lexus LX570 to buy a CTT, there were no problems with it. When the used car dealer inspected it they mentioned that there was paint and body work done to the front end. I insisted that the car was never in any accident nor did I do any repair to it. I rec'd it with only 5 miles on the odometer. They said that sometimes the guys at the docks damage the cars when unloading them and they repair the cars before selling them (I was not notified of this), they also said that the docks do not always notify the dealership of the mishap.
Hope you get this figured out.
