hmm, lemme check what clk blacks are going for these days

Clk black series are going from between 80k-100k on auto trader depending on miles.

there are a couple low mile CLK BS easily getting their 95k-100k price tags.

I remember when this car first came out, dealers were asking anywhere between a 100k and 140k for these cars.

MB cars usually never hold their price well "and im no expert on this" even their amg models.

but for some reason I expect this new BS to hold its value better, one its a smaller run of cars then the mk1 gen, and too this car all ready has alot more hype behind it.

just my .02

The highest asking price on Ebay right now is $89k with only 2,000 miles.

I think people are lucky to get $80k for this car right now.

The problem is you guys get too many of the Black series models in the USA .
We got only NINETEEN clk blacks in the UK . My CLK back is still worth about what I paid for it after several years .
Also your cars are not as they were intended to be , in the CLK black you had regular seats , doorcards , etc just not as special imho .
Again with the c black you have pan sunroofs , comfort seats etc etc . These things just make the cars less special and bespoke , this combined with the very high numbers make the USA blacks more common and less desirable . Hence lower residual values , simple really . You guys need to lobby Mercedes to bring in LESS black series cars and then start on your government for the draconian laws regarding airbags and seats etc .
Again when I take my C coupe Black , I know there will be only 66 cars for the entire British isles and I know that I wont take too much of a wash on it . Having said that these cars are not investments and enthusiasts buying them should know this and go in with their eyes open .

^^^I agree. The DTM edition is worth so much more mainly because there were only 100 made worldwide none of which was officially brought to the US. Private owners brought them in and they're worth quite a bit as a result. They're diluting the brand name by milking the "black series" for all its worth.

I have a place in Florida and wanted a Black series for there ( a white one would have been nice ) . It was advertised for about 80 k , it sold for " somewhere in the sixties " a day before we viewed it .

I think if that car was anything to go buy they have not held values well in the usa at all .

I think "diluting the Black Series brand" is a little harsh . It ( the brand ) was never meant to be as exclusive as the DTM type specials and to be fair 600 cars worldwide is not that many , there are only 400 Enzos .

The problem is the US cars are kind of " grey series " and the USA just demands too many of them . This is a bad combination for residual value .
