@CMoney: All TSers are "tight" with us.

Seriously, though - do a carfax, get a dealer history report (the VIN should be enough to get you that), and see if you qualify for an extended warranty.

Look into the Chrysler extended warranty. I'm pretty sure they cover MB. And as already said, the Airmatic suspension is a big maintenence item on these cars. Other than that, it's an awesome car.

Chrysler doesn't cover the 12 cylinder cars......

I've had two 2005 AMG cars (wagon and SL) and both were great cars although my Chrysler warranty did replace the rear shocks on the wagon b/c they were leaking. The tally would have been $3k at the dealer w/o the warranty.

I havent spoken with any Benz dealers or specialists regarding maintenance on those, but i will soon.
I wouldn't buy/own one of these cars w/o some sort of aftermarket warranty. Check with a dealer as they also sell aftermarket warranties and if you buy it from them you're likely to have fewer issues using it compared to if you buy one somewhere else. Miles aren't too bad and price is based on miles.

Not sure about maintenance, it isn't usually going to be a large cost; where you'll get hammered on these cars is if something breaks which is why you need a warranty

I would get it no doubts and tackle the problems bit by bit.

Those really do suffer from the hydraulic failures but that's not too frightening.

Make sure you take REALLY good care of this car. I might get my hands on one of those but what I've found is a 55 but the mileage on it is close to nothing!
