I've had two 2005 AMG cars (wagon and SL) and both were great cars although my Chrysler warranty did replace the rear shocks on the wagon b/c they were leaking. The tally would have been $3k at the dealer w/o the warranty.

Not sure about maintenance, it isn't usually going to be a large cost; where you'll get hammered on these cars is if something breaks which is why you need a warranty

I would get it no doubts and tackle the problems bit by bit.
Those really do suffer from the hydraulic failures but that's not too frightening.
Make sure you take REALLY good care of this car. I might get my hands on one of those but what I've found is a 55 but the mileage on it is close to nothing!
