iPhone backup | does it contain my password?

Last week I forgot my iPhone access code, so I restored it + jailbreaked it. Now I'm asked if I want my backup on my iPhone 4.
Ofcourse I do, but since it was last synced December 23 it could include my forgotten password.

Bottomline: If you have a password on your iPhone, does your backup also save the password when you sync to iTunes? So if you put your backup on a new iPhone it would have the password you had on the phone where the backup originates from?

Thanks!

The lock code is specific to the phone, which is why it goes away if you recover or upgrade the phone. The backup password is almost certainly different, and may be in keychain.

Applications -> Utilities -> Keychain access. Authenticate and search for "iPhone".

Well, there's yer problem.

There are a few things out there designed to crack iPhone backups on doze, but I've no experience with them.

Well, the only fvcked up thing is that I'll lose all my apps and contacts.
I'll keep searching for another 30 mins and if I can't find a solution I'll skip the backup.
