how do I get my phone to vibrate for text messages and phone calls? I got it to work on my other iphone4 and got my wife one and have no idea how I did it.

any help would be much appreciated.

Settings>Sounds>Vibrate>ON.

There are actually two Vibrate options, so that the phone will vibrate on silent and/or the phone will vibrate with ringers & alerts.

On the difficulty scale of 1 to 10, this is about a 0. Why do you have an iPhone? I can only imagine how few of the features you're actually taking advantage of.

Like I said, there are two Vibrate options to choose from.

If you have it set to vibrate while on silent, and your phone isn't on silent...well, it won't vibrate. That's also the case vice-versa if you have it set to vibrate with your ringers and alerts, but your phone is on silent. Make sure both vibrate options are set to ON, and try again. If that doesn't solve the issue, then there's something else wrong with the phone (perhaps an unlock or jailbreak gone wrong, an update needed, etc).

I did not think to reset it last night, but did a min ago and it is now vibrating.

is there a way to make it a longer, more aggressive vibration?
