I noticed that my front row button on my remote no longer works. Anyone else have this problem?

Damn, you can't download Snow Leopard anymore? I guess I need to upgrade to that before I can upgrade to Lion.

Yea it pauses the music and changes the volume, but the front row button that pulls up the albums and artists on the screen doesn't work. oh well, doesn't matter. I just use the remote app on my phone

That's because they removed Front Row from the OS (due to lack of use). If you want it back you can reinstall it from a snow leopard DVD, another mac running snow, or a time machine archive.

Restore the following files:

/Applications/Front Row.app
/System/Library/CoreServices/Front Row.app
/System/Library/LaunchAgents/com.apple.RemoteUI.plist
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/BackRow.framework
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/iPhotoAccess.framework

Great tip, thank you. I will try it!

From a SNOW leopard DVD, or a machine running it, or a time machine backup prior to installing Lion. Copy the files from the backup location to the locations specified above on the machine running Lion.

Downloaded it on Day 1 a week ago on my imac... Would be interested in using it on my MBP w/mail. Is it easy to get it to work with gmail? i always hate setting up outlook on PCs...

Also, i noticed transmission no longer works on my imac... is there a good program to use that will work on lion?
