OS X Lion and new macs announced today!

New MacBook Airs, Mac minis, Cinema Display, and OS X Lion were all rolled out this morning.

Anyone else considering the MacBook Air now that it has a decent processor?

I'm downloading Lion now as well, though I expect it will take quite some time due to Apple's servers/bandwidth really being tested out right now.

I was hoping for 4GB of ram and 128GB for 999 in the standard model.

Downloaded, installed on Jan 2011 Air.

Works fine

(btw never had any issues with Air performance, my other machine is a maxed out 15 but with an hdd and it feels slower most days)

I can also second the Air performance, I have had my 2011 Air as well for a bit and never had any issues. My 2011 MacBook Pro i5 sometimes gets more lag than the Air. Overall, yes the Air features i5 but I am perfectly fine waiting a couple of months to see if I want to make the move.
Anyways, installing my copy of Mac OS X Lion, half way done! Stoked.

IOS 5 is out this fall so expect iPhone 5 at the same time.

Going to test out lion for a while. Planning on a new MBP come November/December when I return from some travels.

If you use an optical drive with any regularity, or need the extra horsepower and expandability, get the Pro. If not, the Air is very awesome.

FWIW I went from a Pro to an Air for my every day machine and it does everything I need it to do.

One thing to note if you care for the matte display is that you can't get it from the factory on the Air. I had to replace my panel with a matte as I can't freakin' stand the glossy panels.

Barely use the optical so as long as the air can handle lots of photo-shop them I am in!
