Question 997.5 Powerkit X51

What do you think the X51 will add? I haven't read any info on how much power that will add.

porschenut there is no such model as the 997.5

The x51 power-kit was offered on the Carrera S
"This feature increases output of the 3.8-liter, flat-six cylinder Carrera S engine from 355 to 381 horsepower and peak torque from 295 to 306 ft. lbs., making it the most powerful non-turbocharged engine yet offered in a Porsche 911 production car for North America. Distinguished by its carbon fiber air cleaner housing, the X51 Power-kit boosts performance through a series of engine enhancements including a larger throttle body, optimized intake airflow, cylinder heads and exhaust manifold modifications, changes in the control unit, and the inclusion of a sport exhaust system. The result produces a 0 to 60 mph time of a quick 4.4 seconds and a top track speed of an impressive 186 mph."

Hope that helps!

Thanks DJ but I meant by the 997.5 is the facelifted new 997. Now that the S makes 385 and the X51 added 26hp on the previous S, can we expect the same on the new S which means 410-420 hp?

X51 on the Mk II will be available this fall. It will prolly be in the 25hp range; so yeah, 410hp. That's 108hp/ltr. Pretty freaking cool for a NA engine (especially considering that the 996 Turbo was 415hp) (and no speed limiter like the lame ass M3). BTW, since the 997S Mk II revs to 7500, the X51 will likely rev to 7700 or 7800. Oh boy!

That's what I was thinking but was wondering if the DFI will affect the X51 output and make it 30-40hp??

I don't see why they would come out with a X package for the "S" model now. It will be in GT3 territory in terms of HP and almost cost the same. A decked out 911 S already costs $93-$97k, if you add a X51 package that will put it well over $100k. It would be nice but I don't see how it will make any sense to buy it, unless someone really doesn't like the GT3 for a bit more.
