Not every cat has kessy.
And I do not recommended trying to get codes from a dealer. That's a quick way to get fired.

Even without the "Entry and Drive" option I625, doesn't the KESSY/PAS control unit still needs to recognize a programmed transponder to start the ignition?

Yes it does. I'm just saying that applies to all cars not just kessy.

Keys are expensive cause the security required to program them to your specific vehicle. You'll just have to pony up and pay if you want it.

Did you purchase your car with the Entry & Drive option I625? If so, I think you can get a plastic key cut and all will be well (I think.)
