Deepblue Protomotive build...
Last November I was trying to ship my turbo to Protomotive before I went to Afghanistan, most of the quotes were insane and the ones that weren't proved to be undependable, so a buddy and I pulled a hair brained stunt and pulled an all nighter driving both turbo (with a slight oil leak on the driver side turbo) and my SUV from Colorado to Arkansas to drop at Protomotive. Todd and company were awesome hosts despite our being slap happy tired, showing us their shop and some of the other projects. In a building full of tuned Porsche's of different levels, Cyns 70's muscle car was still very impressive as well as "her" engine build shop!
My turbo had an extensive history, bought used as a converted RUF550 that I found to be partially parted after I bought it, then a IA Stage 4 with horrible tuning that caused some turbo failures, then a UMW 2C which was pretty cool, but wanted something more... allot more.
So here we are... it started out as a simple build with new turbos, intake, IC's, exhaust, rods and e85 fuel system but expanded to 997GT2 crank/lower compression pistons (9.0:1 compared to 9.4:1), 997GT2 intake, 997GT3 Oil pump, new lifters, timing chain, welded coolant adapters, valves, intake, Intercoolers, exhaust, custom 3076 based turbos and some other go faster goodies. I cant wait for the dyno runs.
Here are the initial build pics....more to follow.
Gently tapping the sleeves in... I think that orange bat has a special Porsche part number :-)

More sleeves being installed...

Raceware studs, 997GT2 crank with Carillo roads....

Worked heads with new valves and triple high rate springs... check out the sandals, Jesus is building my hot rod.
