$200 is remarkably inexpensive for getting a owner a new key - the parts alone run about $150-$175 (remote + blade.) Then there is time + programming KESSY with PIWIS, obtaining the IPAS codes, etc.

Order one from Stoppie's parts department and have your dealership program it (unless Stoppie's guys can do it).

Hmmm. Interesting - my GT2 didn't come with the black plastic valet key, but my 07 TT did.

what does the valet key do? Can it start the car or not? Seems odd to give a valet a key that cannot start the car

Was your standard key anywhere in the car when you turned on the ignition with the valet?
