What Makes a Porsche Unforgettable?

Maybe something needs to be the "first of its kind" or the "last of its kind" to make it special. Like the last of the air cooled 993s.

Being special and collectible are different things. To be a special car it has to move you in some way and makes you want to come back to it over and over. To be collectible it needs that plus low production (talking 100s not 1000s), tobe unique, heritage is a plus (usually racing), and generally there is a fan following. All this culminates down the road to make something have a lot of value. Usually this takes a long time, and no one knows which car this will happen to. There were people who sold their 250 GTO when the next model came out, no way of knowing it would be the top collectible. Also take a look at something like the ford GT, for a newer car that is dominating at collectibility.

This is TeamSpeed
There is no room for reason

Like another member said, the screaming S85 will. With the moddable capabilities and a VMAX of 205mph, it makes many supercars look bad. No doubt though, the car, especially the vert, is def a phat pig lol. New one is even heavier!
Regarding the Ferro, sorry but the FF is hideous and I don't believe will ever make the 612 non-existent. Its comparing apples with oranges. FF is 4x4 hatchback whatever it is and the 612 is a pure GT car that carries the original coachbuilder's name Scaglietti and was produced at their historical site. This is the sort of thing that means more to me as an enthusiast. I don't have F40/F50/Enzo money -- this is the next best thing for me.

B)FF is ugly to me as well but it will make the 612 non existent. Well maybe non existent like the 456 is today non existent.
3) FF's are made on the exact same line the 612's were/are made on. If they are still making some. Upstairs above the 458 line.
Pure GT car to me doesn't have a plus 2 but that's just my feelings. I know many do I just don't think of them as a GT.

About the ugly thing, I'll just say this: some of the ugliest cars in the world are also the most collectible and valuable. Just look at many of the fifties and sixties concept cars and very limited-run cars made by companies like Ferrari and other "exotic" car companies.

Could say the same about the wonderul 6.3L AMG engine. I love that engine!!
