75K for 2003 360's?

When did they get this cheap?

Cars for Sale: 2003 Ferrari 360 Modena in Dallas, TX 75234: Coupe Details - 305721843 - AutoTrader.com

Man, maybe instead of a GT Porsche, I should look into one of these. Assuming the maintenance is not pure insanity like the 355...

Off to read Dana's faq on 360's.

The guy applied with BMWFS, we should hear back tomorrow.

If he failed the credit check (don't know why BMWFS said that it will take 2 days), another member here has already expressed interest.

You know, since you live in a free state now, the E39 M5 has a police option MP5 gun rack.

Instead of the rear center armrest, this thing takes its place and you can put your MP5 in this special rack, in the BMW M5.

How cool would that be?

I've been considering an E39 M5, but I'd have I find one in good shape with a full maintenance history. As far as the MP5 in the rear center armrest, I'd be carrying my Sig P250 subcompact on me, a 1911 in the glovebox, and a 10" barreled M4 with an M42000 can,in the trunk.

Having a CCW is a great thing.

Off to read Dana's faq on 360's.
Service on the 360 is definitely not as bad as the 355. Just make sure you buy one with the belts just done, look at clutch wear and all the other known expensive stuff.

Changing belts on the 360 is not an engine out job like on the 355. I think it's done once every 5 years in the US (once every 3 yrs in Europe for some reason). So make sure it just had it's belts done.

Clutches in F1's usually last around 15000 miles and in manuals around 25000 miles. Depends on your driving style ofcourse but a dealer can read out how much clutch wear there is.

The 360 is a great car. I've had a GT3 and while it drives better, there's nothing like a FERRARI

stuka i have my car now at the shop for a major and clutch swap
https://teamspeed.com/forums/modern-...ml#post1250047
excuse the dust, i promise it is one of the cleanest and well taken care of 360s in the country if not the gulf
i am going to be at the shop tomorrow, so let me know if there is anything you would like to see in specific! or if there are any questions you wish that i ask my mechanic

that particular example looks GREAT imho, red on black is more of my thing than red on tan/beige/creme. i also like the fact that it has the alum trim and not the CF (perhaps it would have been nice to have that so you can sell to fund a major service!) personally i think giallo and nero 360s are the best looking, but a red fcar is a red fcar and that does mean something behind the steering wheel on a stretch of road when you're all alone

daytona seats are a plus
but the most important thing about that car is that it is a 2003 model
meaning you do not have to worry about most recalls since according to my reading & understanding all have been taken care of by that MY.
i suggest you make a thread on Fchat and they will take you in as one of their own in no time, that lot are MAGNIFICENT

more importantly, you will have 2003 Transmission control unit which is supposed to have better set-up software for slippage and therefore clutch life. as you can see from my pics the gearbox comes out for a clutch job on the 360, which on the 355 it does not. so yes, the belts service does not require an engine-out but trust me it is not the end of the world if it does end up being out after i took a look on how the bay is set up

the ad does not mention anything about an aftermarket exhaust, cat delete, nor the spare key set
edit: i never drove a stock exhaust 360 but my car with tubi muffs and pipes is what i want it to be HOWEVER it IS very loud and my wife does not like going out in it so this is something to look out for depending on your usage intentions.
the spares are important because ferrari only sells them as a set of 3 and they will re-PIN the car which is very expensive to do and unnecessary since:
the fobs themselves can be had on ebay, and even more promptly on Fchat and they can be cloned to the existing one (the car HAS TO come with one because w/o it the engine won't start) for less than $200 but the spare keys themselves are ridiculously priced - something like 150 a pop

for a ppi, things to look out for are:
- clutch life: bearing in mind that this is just a reading based on a calculation of distance i would also suggest that in the ppi they look under the cover that lets you have a view of the clutch disc - i just learned about this yesterday!
on an f1 car, i would be okay with 20% clutch wear, otherwise i would ask for something to be factored into the price
edit: when you read clutch job, please factor in the price for: clutch (with pressure plate, comes that way OEM), throwout bearing, and sensor. on mine, i will throw in a flywheel as well. this is about $4k plus in parts before labour which kind of sucks but it is for at least 5 years
*personally i do not believe that f1 cars only can last a clutch 15k miles*

- the belts service is overrated imho and people put on waaay too much stress on it. yes it is important and yes the documentation is important but it does NOT mean you cannot start or drive the car. the 3yr/5yr difference is just proof to me that ferrari want to sell parts and get business for their dealers. otherwise, it IS called the 30k miles service (~50,000km) and i don't see how the belts would be ruined if the car was not abused nor abandoned in some sort of extreme weather
edit: to me the idea is not the belts, but the tensioners and pulleys in that service
the kit also comes with gaskets and seals, which personally i would have to consider whether or not to do based on leakage (since the car can be worked on with engine in and labour will not be that different)

that said, definitely get the documents on when the belts were last performed. on my car, i did them because the independent did not confirm performing it and even if he did i would have still done it since i was going all in because i wish to drive the car and want it on my clock

please let me know if you have any questions
Dana has been GREAT when i was in the market for mine and although he is not active here anymore i'm sure he will be very helpful if you emailed him. Simba as well has been excellent

good luck!

Stuka our dealer partners at Ferrari FL and LI have recently posted very "reasonable" servicing rates for older cars making these attainable. While I know they aren't in your backyard it may be worth a conversation.
