McLaren vs Ferrari

Cool. Can't wait to pick up the mag. Still think that you can't go wrong with either of the 12C or 458. Or the Turbo S. Kinda neat that they included the GT 5 years after it was in production!

A classic case of a car being better on paper, but then being beaten. The Top Gear Magazine review was very positive about the MP4 (this was the prototype being tested), though. Price/performance wise the cars are pretty identical, if not the McLaren is better. The 458 is 175,364 GBP whilst the McLaren is 168,500 GBP.

I'm a bit surprised the McLaren didn't beat the 458 on the track but not shocked. Perhaps the Macca's strength lies in higher speed tracks.
For me I still think I'd chose the McLaren because I think it is better suited as a daily driver and a better all rounder. According to Chris Harris review the car provides a better ride comfort than all of it's competitors.

Car Magazine did a comparison with traitor Ben Collins at Rockingham between the SLS, GT2 RS, MP4-12C, 458, Gallardo Performante and R8 V10.

However, the following picture, screenshotted during the McLaren lap, shows a different laptime than that shown at the end of the lap.

Also note the message at the end of the video.
