I would pick the Mclaren any day of the week, not only does it look better, it outperforms the ridiculously priced 599. Lets not forget the mod potential of the Mclaren.

I'd take the 599 every day of the week. I bet that acceleration is the only thing the McLaren does better than the 599...

 

It funny how we interpret this video. I see it as - that is the only thing a SLR can do well. Other than that IMHO - it is an overpriced MB with an auto tranny. The 599 is the greatest GT ever buit by Ferrari. You get the Enzo engine with upgraded suspension and F1 transmission for 1/2 the price. It is the only "bargain" in the Ferrari models. I would take a 599 in a heartbeat over the SLR.

 

First of all the mclaren jumps all of those starts and when you go from a roll that high whoever starts off in a better position of the power band is gonna win. Second if the 599 is in sport mode, which it probably is, since most people can't shift at 8350 and the LED thing really doesn't work for a drag race, the car is shifting automatically at 8000 which is slower. The 599 with anyone short of an EXPERT driver will rape the same driver on a race track due to F1-trac alone. You can take my opinion as a grain of salt I don't care I just mention this so some people don't watch this vid and sound like idiots talking to people in the know. A lot of people at Mercedes have MAD respect for the 599 and that's all the details I can really mention.

P.S. The SLR is like 450k so price wise it's not a bargain especially if you can get a 599 under 100 over sticker. Plus your new SLR will depreciate like a brick compared to the ferrari.

PPS. The interior of the 599 sadly blows the SLRs away they aren't even in the same league.
