Need Advice: Ferrari F430 Spider or Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster?
#61
Having owned a brand new 05 Murcielago, I can tell you that the car is heavy, wide, low, and difficult to park. Recently I rode in my friends 08 F430 Spider, and although nice, it didn't quite feel so exotic.
I will say that every time I drove my Murcie, it felt like I was treating myself to something special. The car, regardless of its shortcomings, is just awesome.
Get the Murcie. You won't regret it.

I have to ask why you got rid of the Murci if you loved it so? Did you get a newer? I like your review of the car. It does drive heavy, wide, low and is very difficult to maneuver even in tight twisties. I like agility in a car and add the AWD into the mix and I felt handcuffed every time I drove a Lambo.
Hate is a strong word. Dislike a lot would be more like it. My dislike is all about the handling of the cars. Everyone once in a while I see a white murci roadster and think that looks pretty good.
That being said the only Lambo I will ever own unless they change their driving habits in a large way will be a Miura
I think a Ferrari guy knows he is a Ferrari guy and gets the Ferrari. But a person that looks over towards the Lambo usually wants the Lambo, but he is not quite sure if he can take the step towards the crazier car.
In terms of handling I would say unless you are about to record a "get away Stockhom movie" you will never drive these car close enough to its limit on the streets to feel the real difference. I would say that most people who talks about handling on street cars talks more about what they have read then what they have experienced. I have driven almost everything on track, there its a big difference, but on the street you should just go for what you like, not what corners better.
I drove the Nissan GT-R for 18 000 km over the past 3 months, but my last trip was in a Renault Laguna, I was actually driving way faster with that and could hear the radio at the same time, so street and track performance are in my world two very different things...

Murci might be more rare and get more attention but lets be real. Except for a very few of the world's neighborhoods, the 430 will get plenty of attention. I wouldn't want more than it has to offer in that regard. Attention is fun for a week (from strangers in other cars, ex). There will be plenty of enthusiasts who you actually enjoy chatting with (gas station) in either.
I don't know which is cheaper to maintain. Probably a wash.
F-car will be easier to sell down the road.

The murcielago's "top" is really annoying. It takes you about 20 minutes to put it back on (that, is if your good at it!). I'll have to say, the murcielago is much better looking than the F430. Have an LP640 and had an F430 spider a while back, ride wise, LP640 is more once a week comparing it to the daily drive the F430 offers. Its your choice, but in my opinion i'd chose the F430 spider over the murcielago roadster.
good luck with the purschase!
And, welcome to the Team!
