Thinking about getting a Daytona..
#21
I owned one and the novelty wore off by the end of my honeymoon, about a month after it hit my wrist. I would say go for something else; the Daytona has become the Submariner, and a lot of people are wearing them now versus 5 years ago when it was rare to see them. Check out Panerais as well, if you like a larger timepiece. Good luck.

That's interesting. I feel like everyone and their mom has a Panerai.
I've thought about looking at a IWC, maybe I should put more effore into that..

Just curious - how often do you guys see Daytonas in the real world? I live and work in the "ritziest" area of Atlanta and only ever see two Rolexes: Sub on young guys, salesmen, etc. and datejust with jubilee bracelet on older guys. In 2012 I can recall seeing only a few other watches of any brand: There's a guy who works in my building with a white faced SS Daytona, another with two IWCs - Aquatimer and Portuguese. I saw Rick Ross wearing an AP ROO at the mall, but that's it. Of course I see TAG Heuers from time to time, but they aren't noteworthy like the above. Also Omegas, but never a Speedmaster. Also, never Panerai. I guess Atlanta isn't really a watch town.

Dont own a Panerai either thats another trendy watch IMO but that me I also owned about 25 of them and see nothing that interests me about them they are big grandfather clocks.... for my taste there are two brands period AP & PATEK
