Thinking about getting a Daytona..
Anyone know if there are any plans to make any modifications to the Daytona series any time soon?
I know they changed the bracelet a few years ago, but I believe that was for all oyster bracelets across the board.
Also anyone have any recommendations as far as which looks better white face vs black face. Looking at SS of course.

If your heart is set on a SS Daytona, then get black. They both look nice but the black dial is the holy grail, or used to be. For that kind of money there are so many other watches with much better quality, complications, and even looks. I had one myself, along with my Submariner. I traded in my Daytona for a AP Diver and will keep my Sub, but will not buy another Rolex again.
Rolex is great for its durability and showing less scratches than the higher quality brands, so if its your daily beater watch then its great.
Take a look at JLC, VC, IWC and maybe even PAM.

I'm not a big Rolex fan myself, but based on the type of work I do and my needs (i.e. sporty watch/strong build quality) and as far as movement, reliability and value, it seems like it's hard to go wrong. I feel like the Sub is just played out - everyone and their mom's got one (no offense).
Daytona seems like the right idea, although I'm not 100% on the 40 mm size, seems a bit small for these times. Was wondering if they weren't gonna change it to a 42/44 like the Yachtmaster or the Deep Sea..? Don't know if Stryke has any inside info on this.
I agree, I feel like the black is understated and the right idea. Not looking for too flashy, more like versatility.

Elephant in the room = 99% of stores I've been to don't have any but will gladly put you on waiting list. And the few that I've found that had one, had either one or the other..
I've actually never seen a new black SS in person.

Make a trip out of it. Fly to Dubai or Singapore or another watch hot spot. Take a vacation! Enjoy the summer!

I really like the Daytona, too. A sport watch fits my lifestyle, and I happen to like Rolexes from an aesthetic standpoint, although the brand does carry some baggage. I like the Daytona specifically because (1) it's not a Sub (2) there is tangible motorsports heritage, although it doesn't dominate the physical look of the watch.
