How to check watch accuracy and my results
Im using time and date .com
Current local time in U.S.A. – California – Los Angeles
I set my watch to the next minute while the second hand is stopped and when the time matches up I press the crown down so the watch starts.
Is this what you guys do? Is there a better method?
results ( I say give or take a second, hard to get it perfectly matched to real time)
2000 Rolex Explorer 2 (was just serviced) Been wearing it every day so this is while on the wrist:
24 hours: +2 seconds
3 days: +5 second
2011 Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Safari (while on winder)
24 hours: +2 to +3
3 days: +8 to +9
Brand New Rolex YG Daytona PN dial (while on winder)
24 hours: -1 or -2 seconds
3 days: - -5 or -6 seconds
Its funny as I have heard people say ROLEX doesn't keep good time but my results seem to say otherwise. I was especially impressed with the Explorer 2 that I just picked up. I was at lunch with a guy wearing a PP and he was talking bad about a Rolex and the daytona 4130 movement and how it is inaccurate. Then on facebook I was another guy complain his Explorer 2 doesnt keep time

All of the newer Rolex are AMAZINGLY accurate. The older ones were not as much so that is why you hear that quite a bit about the timing. I would say since around 2007 they are some of the most accurate movements on the market. Better than AP, VC, Patek, etc. as far as accuracy goes. They are super impressive on a timing machine.
