It has nothing to do with money. It has to do with proper dress. We all know he has dumb money, so why isn't he wearing sneakers and a T shirt - because there is certain dress code depending on what you are doing. A wedding is high up in that regard. The watch, it's brand/cost aren't important. He could have an omega AT and I feel it would work better.

I am sure you are a baller with awesome watches and you look awesome wearing whatever watch with whatever outfit because you can rock it well. Personally I think it would look dumb, but I could care less what you decide to wear; I'm merely voicing my opinion. For me, just like someone wears a suit with dress shoes and tie to formal events, accordingly a dress watch should be worn. Maybe you don't follow the norms at these things, I am sure you could "rock" a tuxedo t-shirt and look like a boss.

its with a white shirt always and a sik pair of croc lace ups...that says enough...
You need to look at the more modern looks and get out of the box you are in no one wears a dress watch.
