IMHO, it is worth the money for an Omega. They will last you forever and are universally known as the watch people get when they know quality and know exactly what to pay for that quality. A used seamaster or speedmaster shouldnt be too tough to find and it will fit in any circle you will be around...

My Omegas. They are great watches. You might be able to get a Seamaster used for $1K, but MSRP is much higher than that.
