Love Laurent Ferrier's work, both as an independent and from his 37 years at Patek Philippe.
I have been doing a lot of reading about him recently and his work is superb. The decoration on his movements, the attention to details and the engineering is among the best. This case design just seems so pleasant on my eyes, I love looking at it; it's so aesthetically pleasing! The micro-rotor lineup is great as well, but I would have to customize it with the enamel dial and elongated roman numerals vs. the silver/black dial. Right now it would be tough to pick between a P.Dufour simplicity enamel dial with roman numerals and a L.Ferrier micro-rotor. I like the case of the Ferrier, but a manual wind Dufour is tops IMO for a dressy watch.

I do a lot of reading on blogs and forums on independent Horology because it simply fascinates me. To me, that is what mechanical watches are all about. Hand craftsmanship for all the steps involved and real ingenuity. Brands like patek, VC, breguet are all top notch but don't excite me as much due to the commercial aspect. I still love them though!
Btw - member ctzn has serious watch knowledge, and is a great asset to the forum.

This is what causes me to justify spending big money on watches. This Lange double split is a tour de force in engineering, especially considering the size. Watching those pieces work and thinking about how someone figured it out is mind-blowing. A jumping double split flyback, yes please!
