Buying a watch from an unauthorized dealer?
I've been on the lookout for sometime now for two specific watches.
I found the watches from an authorized dealer, and they weren't really willing to budge much on a deal. For a $25k JLC, they were willing to do $20k, plus taxes and whatnot, which I didn't think was really a good enough deal.
I was in another store that didn't carry the JLC line, but the owner told me he could get me it, and for close to wholesale. He offered me the watch at $16.8, which seemed quite fair - however how safe is it to buy something like this?
What worries me is that if I have a problem with any of my current watches, I know I can bring it to the store immediately where they carry the line and are willing to do something there on the spot. If something happens to a $17k JLC, and I buy it from a store that doesn't carry the line, then where does that leave me?
Has anyone ever purchased a watch like this? Thoughts?

Do you know if it would come with the warranty card? If the watch will come with the proper warranty card/paperwork, then you should have no problem taking it to any authorized JLC shop to get it serviced.
Or, just give Gil a call and you won't have to worry about anything.

By the way Mark, sending a picture of Tina Turner and claiming it to be Bonita won't get you my treasured Casio Illuminator.
