3570.50, 3572.50, or 3573.50 are the first ones you should look at. Then you should open yourself up to the various other options.
this will be my next speedmaster:
for now though, I picked this up on impulse:

Lumma I was looking for months on end for my first serious watch purchase and in the end realized I needed to get a Speedmaster. I also realized that since this would be my first Speedy I had no other choice but to get a professional. Craigger once said the same thing a long time ago and after weeks of looking I came to the exact same conclusion. The first Speedy needs to be a Professional!
I'm now saving up for a 3873.50.31 which has a transparent caseback, saphire glass instead of hesalite and black leather strap. I will however buy at least 5 more straps so I can wear it for more casual occasions. The reason I chose black leather strap is because I wear a suit daily for work and am looking for more elegance than a steel bracelet offers.
My point is, if this is your first Speedy I recommend you get yourself a Professional It is the most timeless out of them all and there's a reason why it's still around today looking almost identical to the original from the 60's.

Speaking of omega, a guy here at the base I'm working on this week has a planet ocean, ss case/bracelet and black dial. Really nice looking in person, I've only ever seen the orange ones. The black/ss fits in a professional setting.

I was lucky to have the bonus of mine coming with both bracelet and OEM CF strap. I interchange between the two 45/45, with the other 10% on a vintage gator. If I could stop dumping money into watches, I'd have my golden brown croc strap (with curved ends) by now.

I don't think I'll ever dare an automatic speedy
