Tried on a Gran Carrera the other day. I quite liked it. I'm Still holding out for a Breitling though.

Anyone have a suggestion for an attractive watch that can be a durable "daily driver" of sorts?

I'd probably be looking to keep it under $100 or so for the time being, so I know it won't be anything high end. Just want to see if I like wearing a watch even.

No other brand comes to mind for value and durability.

Casual would be fine, as I don't do much formal.

I'm fine with anything from a classic analog type look to a "fashionable" digital or what not. I really don't even know where to start looking.

However, I'm not a fan of the gshock (thanks for the suggestion though 65) or rubber straps.

How about Swatch or Fossil Pinned? Two quality companies with a range of different styles and bands.

Check out Nixon watches. They have a huge selection.

My son has two of them and they are pretty good quality for the money.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll give those brands a look over in the morning. And +rep both of you when I'm not on the iPhone!
