i like my ML skeleton watch but, then, i'm not a big watch guy and just wanted something that looked unique and presentable.

I was gonna say an IWC Portuguese would be perfect. You should be able to get one around that price if you look hard enough.

The Port I really want is out of budget. Standard Port Auto can be had ~ 6500, but it looks almost identical to my current watch.

True, but as I told Amirr, my current Hamilton Maesto looks just like an IWC Port Auto. I love the Port Auto, but I would much rather pick up the Perpetual Calendar Moonphase in Rose Gold in the future...

I hate rolex, but the Stainless Sub Date is appealing. The fact that the watch holds its value and keeps increasing in price makes it a good investment watch. Thoughts on the Sub date?

can't go wrong with a Sub. I personally prefer the vintage subs, like a 5513.

Exactly...I like the new ceramic case, my only problem with Sub's is that they are everywhere.
