A-list stars attended "THE DISCO COLLECTION" fashion show

The 23rd annual Cinema Against AIDS gala, May 19, raised more than $25 million in support of amfAR and its pursuit of a cure for HIV/AIDS. The black-tie event, held at the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, France, during the Cannes Film Festival, was presented by Harry Winston and Bold Films. The evening featured performances by Katy Perry, The Village People, Sister Sledge, and The Bluebell Girls, and a dazzling Disco Collection fashion show curated by longtime amfAR supporter Carine Roitfeld.
Among those in attendance were Harvey Weinstein, Leonardo DiCaprio, Uma Thurman, Dame Helen Mirren, amfAR Ambassador Milla Jovovich, Heidi Klum, Faye Dunaway, Adrien Brody, and amfAR Chairman Kenneth Cole. Kevin Spacey hosted the evening in character throughout the night as Johnny Carson, Bill Clinton, Jack Lemmon, Al Pacino, and his own Frank Underwood.

Petrol blockade by unions causes shortages and closures
Five garages in the region have run out of fuel amid a blockade by CGT and FO union members at depot sites and refineries across the country. Petrol stations in Cannes, Mougins, Gattičres, La Garde and La Seyne-sur-Mer have now closed or have partial closures. Despite hundreds of outlets having already shut down and many more facing temporary closure, transport secretary Alain Vidalies has been quick to state that there is no ‘shortage of fuel in France… Of the 12,000 petrol stations, just 816 are closed and 800 have partial shortages’.
However, amid widespread concerns that the blockade will continue as union members protest against the country’s controversial labour reforms, restrictions have been put on vehicles in a number of places throughout France.
Once again they are striking, this summer it is going to be total chaos.....

The “ONE-OFF” FERRARI 458 CAMOUFLAGE by LAPO ELKANN
This Ferrari was completely customized by Lapo Elkann, and donated to benefit amfAR. The idea was born when Lapo set up the Ferrari Tailor Made unit in Maranello. It was therefore a simple step to go further and create Garage Italia Customs, his own creative hub specializing in tailor-made customization. The exterior camouflage livery is the result of a complex process of handmade painting using three different shades of green and one of brown. Even the engine cover and the brake calipers are finished in the same military pattern. On both sides of the body the prancing horse badge is replaced by a metal painted peace symbol.
Inside, we find green painted Kevlar inserts for the dashboard and door panels, paired with a full Kevlar central tunnel with a “458” metal plate hand signed by Lapo himself. The entire cabin is upholstered with brown leather; the seats and the dashboard feature stunning camouflage painted leather.
The 458 Camouflage was sold to billionaire Ron Burkle for $1 million euros. I love that.
In a statement, Elkann said "I have driven every road with this one and only, unique and beloved Ferrari 458 Camouflage and " That I am really that my Ferrari 458 has contributed to the success of amfAR. It is a cause I have cared for and believed in for many years." He went on to say "I am happy that this gesture of mine made it possible to raise such an important amount in order to continue to support the many projects of the foundation to fight AIDS. Let me therefore profoundly thank the new owner for his generosity, because without him we would never have reached this sum."

Do you want to experience a different side of the Monaco Grand Prix and get closer to the action? Every year the Automobile Club de Monaco is looking for motor heads to join their team of controllers and marshals at the Grand Prix. The Marshals of the Automobile Club de Monaco are composed of volunteers with an essential role, as they can perform various functions in the events organized by the ACM. Given the constraints and risks associated with motorsport, they must complete their duties in the most “professional” and rigorous way. So they have to be prepared to that thanks to internships, training or retraining prepared by their frame. This website section of the ACM is an additional tool to reach the required level.
Your motivation is certainly the passion for motorsports, with the honor of belonging to a club with a prestigious past and a rich present, representing the Principality of Monaco in famous events. One of the objectives of this space is also to encourage conviviality and teamwork, which are essential fuels. But also… welcome to those who share the same passion for motorsport, who may know better the Marshals of the Automobile Club of Monaco. And why not, should you meet the admission requirements and have the necessary availability, you are invited to join them and officiate as well as Marshals of the Automobile Club de Monaco.
If you are between 18 and 65, understand and speak a decent level of French, and live close to the Principality of Monaco, this is your chance to get in on the track action and get behind the scenes of the world’s most impressive motoring event. The Automobile Club de Monaco (ACM) is looking for people who fit the specs to work a minimum of two days at the race, with Saturday and Sunday being obligatory. Interested parties should head online to acm.com and follow ‘Navigation’ to ‘Grand Prix de Monaco F1’ and then select ‘Becoming ACM Controller’. Download the application form, fill it in and bring it with you, along with a recent ID photograph, to one of the two registration days at the ACM’s headquarters on Rue Grimaldi.

New Race Control Center
The Historic Grand Prix of Monaco celebrated its 10th anniversary, after being created in 1997, in honor of Prince Rainier, with a new Race Control Center. After several months of construction, the new Race control was inaugurated by H.S.H Prince Albert II Wednesday, 11. May 2016. The 1500 m2 of structure was designed to cater for the constantly evolving needs of the Monaco Grand Prix.

Following the inauguration, Prince Albert was invited to discover the new building accompanied by Mr Michel Boeri, President of the ACM, the Minister of State and the Interior Minister. H.S.H then visited the PC of the Race Control, the State rooms, the VIP reception facilities and the terrace which offers a view to 360 ° panorama onto the port Hercule.
