Traveling to Hong Kong, trying to decide on a hotel...HELP!

Like the title says, I have a trip planned to Hong Kong coming up and will be staying for about a week. I'm trying to decide between the Peninsula, the W, and the Four Seasons. The trip is mixed business/vacation so I'd like to stay someplace that is both fun and nice. Some place close to the action, b/c I've heard the city has an amazing night life.

As many of you may agree, I highly value a good bar and great restaurants. I'm also a bit of a culinary enthusiast (hopefully, this doesn't classify me as gay under the new regs) so I'm interested in checking out the wild street food Hong Kong has to offer.

If anybody has stayed in one of these hotels, or has any specific recommendations it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, JC

Picture of the pool at the Four Seasons below, b/c threads suck without some kind of pic.

We stayed at the Pennisula.

We got a harbor view suite, and the experience was even better than Raffles in Singapore.

If you are a hotel guest, there is no line for the Tea. Just call down and have them arrange it. The refugee Tea area is always crowded with a long line.

We ate out most of the time. So I can't really help you with the dining department inside the Pennisula.

But the Tea is a must.

The sim sum is good, but is on the expensive side. And since it's the Pennisula, do not make the faux pas I made by asking about the carts. Carts are for ghetto dim sum places.

You can also check with the concierge to try to get you in on private dinning that is a new trend in HK.

Hope this helps. I missed the hairy crab season by a few days the last time, so sad.

And lastly, if your SO is an animal lover, don't order the lobster sashimi. The live lobster that they put on ice still wiggled its antenna, which made my wife really sad for the lobster...
