Ooh, Zymi makes a great point.

Face to face with a Gibson purchase, unless you're just convinced by what you read and discuss with the owner.

It's another story if it's a Suhr as they make superb quality every single time.

Just my 2 cents ;o)

In certain cases I think you're both absolutely right. But when I'm buying from a store with a reputation, I don't worry as much. I sell extremely expensive stuff items online/on eBay every day though so maybe I am slightly biased.

The other thing about using eBay is that the people who make a living on there freak the **** out about their feedback, because that's how they put food on the table. In the case of a store, you can tell a lot about it by reading the feedback. Most will go to no end at any cost to them to preserve 100% positive.

In any event, it was sold.

Only one thing counts and that is that you feel it's the right one for you, unless it's just for "wall-hanging". They sound and feel different because they are different, and on top of that Gibson does not have the best quality control.

I'm not at all ebay-scared........it's just a matter of getting the right guitar ;o)

Anyway.... to each his own. If you feel good about buying without trying it first that's fine by me ;o)

I suck, so it's really just semantics for me. Although I do appreciate the right neck.
