wrong attitude

most of us dislike the green car stuff because it makes little sense because in the end it is not green at all and/or it is inefficient and the bashing on the few CO2 sinners makes even less sense

but I actually do care about the "health" of our planet

Mostly Tesla and Fisker. GM and Chrysler were bailed out. Ford didn't get bailed out, but did receive a $5.9 billion loan to retool their factories.

I mean don't get me wrong, I don't want the earth to suddenly explode or whatever al gore claimed would happen when he invented the concept that global warming was cause by us.

I can't believe anyone that has a brain and actually studied science and/or history doesn't realize that global warming is a naturally occurring cycle that is caused in large part by volcanic eruptions, etc. One volcanic eruption releases about 100x more pollution than a diesel pickup will do in 200k miles. Honestly, it doesn't take a earth science major to realize this.

Defensive Eco-mentalist responses incoming...

In the end, bankruptcy law was cast aside in shortchanging the bond holders and most of that money is never coming back. In fact I'm not comfortable calling Chrysler an American Company anymore. As Rahm Emanuel said: "Never Let a Crisis go to Waste."

Ford wasn't given a loan. They put their entire company, assets, even their trademark and patents up as collateral.

How is it not a loan just because it was secured?
