^ Def. You can go over to Oak Tree and they have a few you can rent I believe... Let me know, I'm down for a little meet at the range.

Since Curve's store is not up and running yet I would recommend checking out Riflegear, its a bit of a drive but well worth it.

Exactly. It is the Honda Civic of guns. Whatever direction you decide to go with it you can make it happen. 16-20"+ barrels, FF foreends, 9mm up to .308 the options are endless. Do PLENTY of reading before you buy so you know what you are looking at.

Start here and read for 2 weeks..

AR15.Com - Your Firearm Resource. (AR-15, AR-10, M4 Carbine, M16, H&K, SIG, FNH, FAL, AK-47, 50 Cal, M1/M1A, Handgun, Pistol, Training, Hunting, and More!)

RifleGear - AR Style Rifles

Also if you want a cheap first gun, and want to shoot cheap ammo I would also entertain a .22LR. There still fun to shoot, about a 1/3 the price, and the ammo is about 1/2 the cost. You can get AR Style rifles chambered in the .22LR

Is it easy to maintain? And what type would I be looking for, I see there is an M4 and M16?

Edit - Thanks for the link Powerhouse.

Once school is up for me at the end of June you can plan on a range meet.

You can also check out some local Gun Forums (Calguns.net) and check the private for sale section... There are some nice builds/guns on there, and you can save a little bit of cash doing a PPT.

Maybe since you are new to the AR world come in here and update us on what you are looking at and we can steer you in the right direction. Also be prepared to buy more AR's or guns in general after you get one. You thought cars were addictive? You haven't seen anything yet..
