Well I'm bitten by the bug again after all these years and have become obsessed!
Last night I rounded up my wife, my buddy and his girl (in case you recognize him, it's he who runs SuperCar Sundays and the Motor4Toys holiday event) and we hit Oak Tree for a few hours of private instruction while handling four different firearms. Our first time to the Club.
It was a first-time shooting for the girls, and the deer wandering into the skeet field and then over into the pistol range didn't help them at all - they thought there might be an ugly ending to it! If you look closely/zoom, you'll see the deer in the tactical range picture.
We then got a start which worked itself into an outstanding session with Tim Mitchell (related somehow to the owner, if not part-owner) and worked ourselves through a .22LR pistol (see picture), a S&W 868 Plus (I think it was) shooting .38 not .357, a full-size Glock in 9mm, and finally a Kimber ACE/USA/something-or-other 9-round .45 Match pistol. I'm getting a Kimber now; that thing was FANTASTIC, worth ever penny!
Total thumbs-up on Tim, the range, and overall experience. I hate to say it, but it might become another 2nd home. Like I need another. Ha!
