New ACOG on the way

I have a Les Baer AR .223 that's been laying around sightless for a while. It's a shame considering this rifle has sub 1/2MOA accuracy. So I was forced to order a new ACOG. I chose a newer model, the TA31H. It has a horseshoe reticle. Anyone have experience with this? Should be fun

That's sweet. Is it a 3.5x or 4x? That reticle in 3.5x with 7.62 compensation would be money on an M1A or SR-25.

EDIT: Just looked really carefully at the first pic - it's 4x for 5.56mm

That reticle looks awesome. I've always wanted a rifle with some nifty optics of some sort.

Yeah, 4X. It would be sweet for a .308 but I haven't seen one yet. When I finally get my hands on a POF .308 I think I'll get it a Night Force.....something you can really reach out and touch someone with.

Doc, what did you pay for the Baer? I'm trying to determine how much they've jumped up in price over the past few months. I saw one at the gun show last weekend that I almost bought, and have been regretting the decision not to all week.

It's the M4 Flattop LE, got it in early '05 and I paid around $2400.

Good find, but it's for an M240 (it's a machine gun). I wonder if it's set up for MG ballistics (i.e. barrel length, hotter ammo, etc.). I know Trijicon will do custom glass, but it's ridiculously expensive. My inquiry was for an extended eye relief 4x32 w/7.62 ballistics to put on an M1A SOCOM.

Dang, I just read the part about "The ranging
reticle is calibrated for 7.62(.308 cal) flattop rifles out to 800
meters." and totally missed the M240 part. I wonder how it would work on the M1A...

Yeah me too... It's an easy call to make to Trijicon. It might just be a reticle swap which isn't too much $$. Thanks for finding that.

Did you notice the killer 6x optics?? SICK... Trijicon, Inc. : Brilliant Aiming Solutions™
