I prefaced that comment with "As far as I've heard" because I wasn't entirely sure, and didn't have time to check. I forgot that different counties have different rules. So things may be different in your area. However, nearly half of my customer base lies in Kenosha County. I've just checked, and they do in fact have emissions inspections there. I was wrong however in that they no longer do visual inspections, and like Illinois they are only checking OBD-II.

Individual states and counties vary. However as a COUNTRY cars are only able to be sold in the US as road legal production cars once they are certified to pass emissions. States and counties vary because some put a bigger emphasis on making sure cars are still producing the correct amount of emissions.

Thats ****ing bullshit, the mother****ing venom gt is not a producttion car, and im starting to hate hennessey now for this bullshit.

Really a 3 year old record is withdrawn because some american pos car comes in and claims it when it 1: does not break the current record. 2: is not a productioncar. 3: is not aproved to be sold anywhere in the world, atleast not driven legaly...

This is ****ing BS!!

But if you ask every clueless dimwit on the net or instagram its a productioncar cuz they built more then 1 car. LOOOOOL!

Fu hennessey really mean this. Your can is not or never will be a productioncar in the eyes of real carfans. I admiered your builds but this bs + the stupid retarded shit you said about bugatti in your "top speed world record" video has made me go bananas... I have 0 respect for hennessey or thier BS car that is totally useless for anything then to go 200+ mph on a 2mile straight.... production car? yeah right. Might aswell smack a yetengiene in a volvo and then just rename it. And claim the record...

Hi,

Interestingly enough, Detroit Electric claim their Lotus based car to be a world record holding production car.

Detroit Electric - Models

Cheers,
