Gotta meet those ever-more-stringent emissions/fuel consumption regulations. I mean, it would be a catastrophe if all the hordes of supercars that each get driven 12,000+ miles a year didn't have the same emissions as a 4-banger Honda that only gets driven maybe 1,500 miles per year TOPS.
