I thought the same, I think its optional. Any veyron owners here can shed some light on this.

I don;t see the 'fail' part of it? Looks like putting that on is just a pain in the ass.

Also that is the extra top, for when you leave the removable hard top back home. Used to tide you over essentially.

Its standard on Grandsport.. The umbrella is actually easy to put on but you need to practice a bit. After installing it you can unscrew the handle there is a special place for it on top of the lever that open the bonnet. What's nice it's all the bars and handle of the umbrella is made of carbon fibre. The handle is there to make it easy for one person to install it and make it handy to use. But the glass roof is a two person job.
