Ooooo what about a supercharged S85 V10 BMW engine? That would wail like a wounded beast and have the power linearity of a freaking f1 car with your setup Jon! Dooooo it!
Only problem I guess is that it would be damn hard to get that platform to the 1000hp figure you were shooting for.

With 1000kg car, 1000hp is kind of overkill... Have only been driving this on 600 and that makes the 670 seem like fully loaded truck in an uphill slope...

Hey guys!
The reason for all the smoke was that the "cold start" was not set so it was still on when it rolled out...
Its now starting nice and smooth but boubles in the water system makes us think that the head gasket is not sealing properly, a problem we have had in the past with this engine. (Lexus V8 Twin Turbo)
New gaskets will be ordered asap and hopefully that will solve the problem temporarily...
But with all this happening I could not help but thinking of new engine alternatives so I thought I would see what you guys could come up with, any ideas what I could put in this little crazy car?
Options that I have been looking into are the BMW V10 and a good old Nascar engine. Any other ideas? If so please post with link on places to get them... ;-)
Then again, something like this would be insane, but maybe not a smart move since this will be used to drive Gumball with and I am not suer how something like this would handle a few hours of hard driving on the road... ??
Cosworth XD Spec Sheet
Thoughts? ;-)

Is there even a budget? Not going to sound anything like what it sounds now, but what about the R35 GTR engine with Switzer mods? I would imagine it would be extremely complex, not to mention you need to worry about which transmission to use.
At least the engine is relatively small and you get to keep the weight of the car down. Alternatively, a TT porsche motor by protomotive? You could hook up a manual transmission to that a lot easier I would imagine.
Both of the above options should let you hit 1k hp with a relative sense of reliability.
EDIT: Nevermind, just read your above post.
In that case! How about just putting in a TT Gallardo engine? They sound utterly manic!

The BMW V10 sounds like a good idea; but i also like Mike's idea of the R35 GTR engine as well.

If you are going that direction, Nelson Racing Engines builds some nasty V8s. They are works of art. And they will last.
I would be happy with those choices.
I personally think your car would be a perfect fit for a rotary. The Mazda R26B maybe. Or the 20B. I don't know a whole lot about them. But the light weight with high power would be cool. And it would be different. A very wild engine to go with the wild body.
