New exclusive interview with Horacio Pagani, new details about C9

Great interview with Pagani. The man has my respect in many ways and I love the way he handled the "green" question. Looks like we won't be seeing a hybrid in his lineup anytime soon. Is it possible to rep him here for that reason alone?
Hope he changes his mind about DCTs in the future though...

There is information that M275 V12 TT 6.0 l AMG engine will be reworked specially for Pagani needs more significantly than we have expected, rumors are that it will have a direct injection for better efficiency, also rev limit will be higher. I really hope it is really so and we will be able to call this engine bespoke as Horacio mentioned. Pagani just needs amazing engine for bright future.

Thanks for the info D55L, and yep, I think all of these new upcoming supercars need to come with the option of either a DCT or a good old-fashioned manual transmission.
If Lamborghini is going to survive this they need to be thinking of every little detail.

Lamborghini will survive and their new flagship car has all ingridients to be great car, so Pagani needs to be just nothing less than brilliant to justify price tag, nowdays just exclusivity is not enough. Also one more rival is on the way Ferrari Enzo successor with all new technology Ferrari usually throws in their halo car.
Availability of traditional and beloved by us manual gearbox is still open question on both Lambo and Pagani. Speaking about DCT, it is almost a sure fact now that Pagani will not use DCT. Transmission that will be used in Murcielago successor is still not clear for sure, may be it will be Graziano DCT.

On the other end of the scale, however, Aston Martin has set the cost bar fairly high. Pagani still has some room to play with there, as far as where they place their C9 pricing level.
Lamborghini has been there also, with the Reventon (and Reventon Roadster). If those sell, with no noticeable power increase, I would think well-heeled collectors would happily pay as much or more for an all-new Pagani. Didn't a "mystery buyer" just purchase 10 of the 77 Aston Martin One-77s? And that at well over $1 million apiece.

^^^ And the proof is a fact that slightly more than a year of C9 production is spoken for before the customers will know the official specs, of course they were told few hints, but not the full specs. There are many rather worthless supercars pretending to be unique like One-77 and Reventon and they found and will find some customers wealthy enough to add them to the stable.
But there is a bit different situation with Pagani - just looks how amazingly positive is response from the buyers, press and whole automotive community. Looks are the magnet, but also this is partly because of combining low weight and amazing NA V12 from AMG for amazing numbers and even more amazing ride. There is no TT engine that could be equal to high-revving NA V12 in immediate throttle response. This combined with amazingly low weight it gave the Zonda's win formula.
May be Ferrari will solve this problem with their V8 TT for Enzo successor, but as for Pagani, I really do not know if this old and heavy M275 V12 TT is the right engine for future Pagani. I am not sure that AMG will really rework it to high-revving and efficient unit.
