VIDEO: McLaren MP4-12C Testing

In this video it actually sounded better than the previous video I saw of the car. Still not very excited about the rear end styling. I am sure that this car will be one of the best road cars available and based upon the quoted figures I think it will outperform the 458. Turbocharged cars usually don't sound as good as normally aspirated ones but I was very impressed with what I heard.

I don't like the sounds of that- they are making the car easy, and comfortable. Isn't that the exact opposite of the McLaren F1? Is it for soccer moms? They should make it hard and badass because those are the cars that stir the soul and get you up late at night thinking about them. Plus, the exterior is really boring. I want to like this car so much, and I know it will be a performer, but idk. It seems like the whole exotic car industry of the 80s, 90s, and early 00s has gone from unique exotic cars that are hard to comfy sports cars where you just need to steer and push the gas.

Ron Dennis said this in a recent single-page interview published in Car&Driver:
"One of the things we have put in place for the future strategy of the company is that there's a whole range of products coming... there will be, in broad principles, a new car of one sort or another every single year from now for 12 years. That's the plan. And that's a huge difference from just going into the uncertainty of "what next?" which we had with the F1."
Lofty goals, as they say. Their real struggle in my opinion will have nothing to do with developing the car, but rather pulling together a successful worldwide dealer network in these somewhat challenging economic times.

Epic win all round, right?

They have drivers working in shifts for testing non stop.... THIS IS WHY MCLAREN WILL ALWAYS KILL THE COMPETITION.
Love their dedication and the logic behind their new cars... good visibility, comfort etc!

And I don't think the F1 was hardcore ( certainly badass ). By all accounts it seems to be a pretty drivable car, and many people have said the suspension was to soft, which is evident when the car is been flung around a track.
This car will be a huge success.

I can not wait to see one in the flesh.

Guys check out these videos, they give a great insight into the thinking behind the McLaren. The more I see and hear the more I like it. And it’s also great that that the factory is keeping me up to date as a prospective buyer with regular email’s and updates on where they are with the car and what is going on. If they continue in this fashion and take it into the after sales service all of the other supercar manufacturers are going to have to up their games.
