Best Gumpert Apollo pic Ive seen
#44
That's our 'shop" Gumpert. It was in California for an HRE fittment session (hence the wheels you see on tha car in those photos) and also there for the Need for Speed video game launch. If there were pictures of the other side of the car you would see that it has a different set on the passanger side than the drivers side.
But of course.

^^^ TRUTH!

For those who don't admire the Apollo's styling, the photo on this link may be the best pic you've seen.

On seperate note, the safety structure built into those cars is unparalleled in the production car world as far as I am concerned. If you are going to crash a car while driving very, very fast, this is the one to do it in!

It's not so fast that it can get away with being so ugly. The old Consuliers were blasted for their looks, and I think they were a sight and a half better looking than this Apollo thing.

Another one of these super-kit-cars. I guess anyone can throw a Ford/Chevy/MB engine on a chassis, put on some breaks, wheels, suspension and a retarded looking body on it and slap a $750k price tag on. I'd rather a Scuderia or CGT, where the R&D is done by a billion dollar plus racing program.
Why does it have to be designed by a billion dollar plus racing program? Just because you can make a fast race car doesn't mean you can make a good road car. The Apollo (which is actually around $500k) will smoke every $600k-$2mil Ferrari, Maserati, Bugatti, McLaren, Porsche, etc.
Like the Koenigsegg, Pagani, Spyker, SSC, etc, just because it doesn't have the funding doesn't mean it isn't engineered great. In fact that often means it is done better, more efficiently without waste.

The Apollo is designed by the guy who designed the very successful 1980s Audi Group B rally cars. I think that is good enough.
