I am a Lakers fan first so you have to understand to a certain extent if I have to disagree with some of your sentiments regarding its players. Especially since I have been following them for quite some time. You would find that my responses are quite reasonable if you were to frequent Lakers forums.

Hi,
The Heat fans are labelling themselves underdogs for the simple fact that they're lining up an excuse. There is no way in the world this team shouldn't be favourites to win, especially in this shortened season.

That's cool, most laker fans are pissed at Pau and somehow think he is just AVG now... Which is stupid, but oh well... Still think your an idiot (lol) for arguing that Pau's stats have declined since joining the lakers, but you enjoy your evening.

I guess the Lakers FO and fans are simply unjustified for wanting to trade Gasol then.

History has shown that championship teams are built around a few stars with key role players filling specific roles that fit into a coach's plan/philosophy. Pau may be past his prime, but he was a key piece of the most recent Laker championships, and Fisher was a key "role player" in Phil Jackson's system during that run.
The problem I see with the Heat this year, and the Lakers for that matter, is those key role players have not found their respective niche's on those teams, so victory for those teams is almost entirely dependent on the stars of those teams being magnificent. The Lakers were only going to go as far this year as Kobe and Bynum (and Pau to a lesser extent) could take them as Sessions, Blake, Barnes, Hill, etc were not consistently effective. Putting the right pieces doing the right things around your star players is what separates the merely good coaches (like Mike Brown and Spoelstra) from the truly great coaches like Phil, Pop, and Doc) I'm not saying Brooks is a truly great coach, but his use of role players this season certainly makes a case to mention him in that group, especially if they win this season.
Given the play of the Heat role players so far, the Heat will only go as far as their big 2.5 will take them. I am predicting OKC in 6 and hopefully a big off-season for my beloved Lakers.
Right now, the OKC role players have settled into a grovve
