Manchester United are closing in on the signing of Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski, according to his boss with Poland's national team.

Sir Alex Ferguson watched Dortmund's impressive 5-2 German Cup final win over Bayern Munich last month and has since signed Shinji Kagawa for £17million. Lewandowski, 23, scored a hat-trick in that game and has been tipped to star for the co-hosts at Euro 2012.
Poland coach Franciszek Smuda boasts three players from the German champions in Lewandowki, Lukasz Piszczek and Kuba Blaszczykowski. But he revealed that all three are expected to leave Dortmund this summer.

£15M, apparently.

They both look like they've had a hard life for footballers.

 

There are a lot of guys I'm shocked to hear how young they are. Some of them seem like they've been around forever.

While Muller would be a GREAT fit at United, Lewandowski would be excellent, too, letting Rooney play the #10 role just behind him. Rooney needs someone else to finish since he's such a great creator (and very underrated IMO). If Rooney and Van Nistelrooy had more time to play together, they'd have been devastating...

Modric is overrated. Watch him ride the bench at United. Tottenham < United.

 

Manchester City have been dealt a blow in their bid to sign Arsenal's Robin van Persie, with his father saying the striker will not join another English club.

 

Good - I'm glad to see that SOMEONE has some loyalty in the EPL.

 

Of course that still doesn't rule out Italy or Spain, but hopefully he at least sticks to that. I'm so sick of City!
